Latvia’s second Young Art Exhibition and Auction brings together 49 works by 36 artists at the Creative Factory Veldze in Riga. The exhibition is open free of charge from 28 October to 5 November and will culminate in an auction on the evening of 5 November, with participation available both in person and online.

“The exhibition offers first-time buyers, experienced collectors and anyone curious about contemporary art a chance to discover emerging Latvian artists and explore different styles. We encourage visitors to see what draws their attention, while the auction provides an opportunity to purchase a work and support its creator,” explains curator Raivis Alksnis.
The exhibition and auction are supported by Invego x Art, a long-term initiative that helps introduce young Latvian artists to a wider audience and encourages people to bring art into their homes.
“Seeing art in person allows visitors to appreciate its scale, texture and detail. The exhibition is an opportunity to discover a work that resonates with them,” says Kristjan-Thor Vähi, head of real estate developer Invego and a keen supporter of young Latvian art.
The event builds on Latvia’s first Young Art Auction this spring, which featured works by 29 emerging Latvian artists and attracted buyers from both Latvia and Estonia. A total of 35 artworks were sold, with Ella Mežule’s painting fetching the highest price of €3,000, while many other works sold at considerably more accessible prices.
“When furnishing a new home, I encourage people to leave room for art. A work by a Latvian artist brings individuality into the home, while each purchase gives its creator practical support and encouragement to continue,” adds Kristjan-Thor Vähi.
The Young Art Exhibition is open free of charge at the Creative Factory Veldze in Riga from 28 October to 5 November. The auction takes place at the same venue on 5 November at 18:00, with participation also available online.
