We encourage visitors to see what draws their attention, while the auction provides an opportunity to purchase a work and support its creator,\u201d explains curator Raivis Alksnis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition and auction are supported by Invego x Art, a long-term initiative that helps introduce young Latvian artists to a wider audience and encourages people to bring art into their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSeeing art in person allows visitors to appreciate its scale, texture and detail. The exhibition is an opportunity to discover a work that resonates with them,\u201d says Kristjan-Thor V\u00e4hi, head of real estate developer Invego and a keen supporter of young Latvian art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event builds on Latvia\u2019s first Young Art Auction this spring, which featured works by 29 emerging Latvian artists and attracted buyers from both Latvia and Estonia. A total of 35 artworks were sold, with Ella Me\u017eule\u2019s painting fetching the highest price of \u20ac3,000, while many other works sold at considerably more accessible prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen furnishing a new home, I encourage people to leave room for art. A work by a Latvian artist brings individuality into the home, while each purchase gives its creator practical support and encouragement to continue,\u201d adds Kristjan-Thor V\u00e4hi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Young Art Exhibition is open free of charge at the Creative Factory Veldze in Riga from 28 October to 5 November.
