Cornerstone laid for 50 million euros residential neighbourhood “Mārupes Sirds”

The cornerstone of the new residential neighbourhood “Mārupes Sirds” was ceremonially laid in Mārupe, marking a major milestone in the development of one of the largest new residential projects near Riga. Once complete, the €50 million project developed by Invego in cooperation with EfTEN Special Opportunities Fund will comprise more than 400 homes in Mārupe.

Speaking at the ceremony, Marianne Kalma, Partner and head of construction at Invego, thanked all project partners involved in bringing the development to life. “In about a year and a half, this place will become home to 65 families through the first phase of “Mārupes Sirds”, which includes two apartment buildings and 15 row houses. We are grateful to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life, from the architects and engineers to Mārupe Municipality, EfTEN Capital and our construction team of the first phase SIA “EKOTEH BŪVE”. Most importantly, we thank our clients, because everything we are creating here is for them. Very soon a new community will emerge here, and many families will call this place home,” said Marianne Kalma.

Representing Mārupe Municipality, Chairman of the Development and Environment Committee Arnis Priediņš emphasized the importance of high-quality projects for the municipality’s sustainable development: “We highly value real estate developers who think not only about construction quality, but also about thoughtful urban planning and how a new development will integrate into the existing neighbourhood. This approach helps create a high-quality living environment for both current and future residents of Mārupe.”

“When evaluating real estate projects, both the location and the team behind the development are essential. “Mārupes Sirds” enjoys a strategically advantageous location with convenient access to Riga, Jūrmala and the international airport, while the project’s name reflects important values: a sense of home, belonging and community. At the same time, Invego has demonstrated its expertise in developing large-scale projects in both Latvia and Estonia. EfTEN believes in strong teams, and we are pleased to be a partner in this project,” says Kaspars Roga, Residential Fund Portfolio Manager at EfTEN Capital.

The architectural concept for the residential district was developed by Uldis Bērziņš together with the TECTUM team. The architect expressed his genuine joy at seeing the ideas captured in the drawings become reality. “Designing new buildings is one thing, but creating a true sense of home is a major challenge, and we are confident that we will succeed in doing so with this project,” he added.

The project’s construction partner stressed its commitment to quality and timely delivery. “Today we are laying foundations not only for new buildings but also for a future community. We value the trust placed in us by Invego and fully understand the responsibility that comes with it. Our goal is to deliver high-quality construction safely and on schedule,” said Oskars Petrovs, Chairman of the Board at SIA “EKOTEH BŪVE”.

“It is encouraging to see developments in Mārupe that focus on residents and families and create long-term value for the community. We appreciate the trust placed in us and are determined to prove that we can deliver this project to the highest standard,” added board member at SIA “EKOTEH BŪVE” Didzis Apšāns.

Designed as an A-class energy-efficient residential neighbourhood, “Mārupes Sirds” will combine modern architecture with extensive green spaces, playgrounds, walking paths and recreational infrastructure. Upon completion, the development will comprise apartment buildings and row houses, creating a diverse and vibrant neighbourhood in the heart of Mārupe. The first phase of construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
